Spark has made writing data applications easy. But deploying and maintaining them stable and efficient over time is hard. All the Spark offerings expose dozens of knobs - infrastructure parameters and Spark configurations - and forces their users to work with proprietary tools or outdated Hadoop-era technologies.
Our team of experts got together around the mission to build the most easy-to-use Spark platform. We’re building the containerized data infrastructure of tomorrow, abstracting away the complexity of infrastructure, but open to the innovations of the open-source community.
So you can focus on your mission while we handle the mechanics.
“JY” likes to bring people together around impactful projects. After graduating from Ecole Polytechnique and Stanford, JY worked at Databricks, the unified analytics platform founded by the creators of Apache Spark. There, he lead the Spark cluster team and realized the huge impact delivered by well-tuned infrastructure. JY hates to see resources go to waste and is determined to make data technologies much more efficient at the global scale.
Julien is passionate about technology and solving complex problems with data. After graduating from Ecole Polytechnique and ETH Zurich, he honed his software and machine learning skills at BlaBlaCar and ContentSquare. As a tech lead, he deplored the organizational cost of maintaining Spark workloads in production. By sharing his enthusiasm, determination, and humility, Julien likes to drive his team towards solving the hardest technical challenges.
